Happy Holidays->Ultra longhaul
December 23, 2025
Season`s greetings and a Happy New Year with our new uuuultra longhaul
Dear pilots and friends!
2025 is almost over and we would like to take the opportunity to thank everybody who has contributed this year to flywoh: Either by contributing to our events, by sacrificing time to "work" for our virtual airline group or by flying on behalf of flywoh. Thank you!
This year was special: We celebrated our 25th anniversary - what an unbelievable time we`ve had since our start in the year 2000. And what an incredible amount of friends and colleagues we have made in all that time. We think nobody would like to miss this. So once again, many thanks to all of you.
And as this year is so special, we have a big or better to say uuuultra big surprise for your for the end of the year: We have now opened our ultra long haul operations with the Airbus A350-900 ULR on behald of Australian Sun: Our uuuultra longhaul project has started with daily flights from Sydney, Australia to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), London Heathrow (UK) and New York JFK (USA). The aircrafts are equipped with only 176 seats and you are required to tightly calculate your flights, especially on westbound routes. The A350-900ULR textures have been added to our inibuilds A350 texture package. So have fun flying the A350-900ULR now on the really long routes. :-)
For 2026 we will continue our work and the following projects are scheduled:
Arabian Sun: AThe B777-200LRs will leave the fleet at the and of 2026 and will be replaced by further A380s and B777-300ERs. The route network will further be optimised.
Australian Sun: Our ultra longhaul project will be extended by further flights, e.g. from Melbourne.
American Sun will set up a hub at Dallas/Fort Worth. The longhaul is already active from DFW, short and mediumhaul will follow soon.
Austrian Sky will further take over the B737 fleet of charterair and will transform into a European carrier with hubs accross Europe. First bases beside its home market Austria - and especially Vienna - will be Dusseldorf and Berlin in Germany and Palma de Mallorca in Spain. More bases will follow. The fleet will consist of B737-800s, B737 MAX8 and B787s. For the regional segment it will be considered to swap from Q400 to modern ATR72s. More to follow soon...
charterair will concentrate on leisure flights from its german homemarket. Beside the brand new A330neo longhaul fleet it will fly A320neos and A321neos on short- and mediumhaul. The remaining Boeing B757-300s will be replaced by 2027.
Skyways will setup a new short- and mediumhaul schedule. There will be launched a project to replace the B777-300ERs in the longterm - due to lack of aircrafts at the moment, the A340-600 will come back to Skyways for a short period.
NEXUS Cargo will be analysed in the course of 2026 to further develop the cargo business.
Swiss Sky has been developed in 2025 with a brand new A350-900 and -1000 fleet as well as the A330-900neos. In 2026 there will be a focus on the short- and mediumhaul.
We hope these news will get you as excited as we will be and we wish you Merry Christmas, relaxing holidays and a Happy New Year 2026!
Florian
